I really like new or recently renovated rooms. I sleep a lot, so a nice room is really important.
How about the Banyan Tree?
Hi spidey, I travel to BKK every 6 weeks and I only stay at Banyan Tree
strictly because most of the staff there knows me by my first name due to my frequency of stay... There's been a lot of negative comments on BT but rest assured with your budget just book yourself into the One Bedroom Grand Suite and you'll be pampered throughout yr stay. There were some instances whereby I've booked and paid thru an online travel co but couldn't go due to unforeseen circumstances, BT called up the internet hotel co and instructed them to defer my booking although the conditions clearly stated non refundable and no cancellation allowed. N whenever my friends book BT, I just have to inform BT's front office manager and my friends will be upgraded at least 2 categories. They have the best spa around and their sky bar is absolutely breathtaking. Just drop me a note if you ever decide on BT and I'll inform them about your arrival. U don't even have to pay for the one bedroom suite, just book the Banyan Tree club suite and I'll help you to do an upgrade. It all depends whether you are going there on business or holiday. Business wise it's a perfect place to stay but holiday wise it's not too bad either because taxis are cheap and abundant there. Most importantly you are putting up in an excellent suite. U will have the privilege to enjoy exclusive club floor facilities with breakfast served there or in your suite and all day cocktail and drinks for free. Do I sound like I'm promoting and working at BT ??? Honestly no... Again, drop me a note if u ever decide BT as your choice of stay or for the matter any doubts and questions about BAngkok. Cheers
