A lot more than nights factor in.
I had 175 nights last year, have 195 nights this year (100 roll-over), and I'm not PP. I do have the MR visa and use it extensively as well. I stay at a mix of FS and Courtyards. I probably spend $2-$3K / month on Marriot stays alone. Total card spend last year was probably $40-$45K
So as I said, there's a lot more in the mix besides just nights stayed.
