Imo, Amex Gold is arguably the best "regular" card in Canada (meaning no 400$ annual fee like Plat/BusPlat/AeroPlat). Double miles on travel and everyday expenses, insurance and Amex customer support, what more do you want for 150$?. Plus it's one of the best looking credit cards out there. Miles (hahaha... miles) better than the old Amex Gold, which was pretty much a Green card with Gold paint.

Of the other highly-ranked credit cards on that list, I'd say the Avion and Amex SPG are both great. I don't really rate the Aspire because I prefer airline miles. I'm disappointed the BoA/MBNA Alaska Airlines card didn't make the cut because I think it's a great choice for anyone living in Alberta/BC, especially with the low 75$ annual fee.
