Sounds like Priority Club then, I was just expecting more consistency from Hilton.

If I might get a single room then it's not worth booking; I was just hoping that gold status would get something better (even if I didn't earn it!).

I can book a cheaper room at the nearby Crowne Plaza - I will get at least a queen and the usual (remote) possibility of an upgrade to something nice. They don't have a pool but I would have to buy a costume anyway!
