Touring Niagara, Toronto, Montreal and New England - car or train/greyhound?
Hi All,
I am attending a wedding in Boston MA in late October. We are planning to spend 2 weeks in the US/Canada and do some sightseeing. I have been to Cape Cod and CT before but not in the fall, my partner hasn't been at all, and neither of us has been to Canada.
I'm thinking of a loop Boston - Vermont - Montreal - Toronto - Ottawa - Niagara - Boston, or similar. We will have 9 or 10 days free after the wedding, so I wonder if I'm planning on seeing too much. Also, I wonder whether this is too many miles to be driving, so whether it would be more pleasant on the train (where possible) and greyhound bus, perhaps with a flight back from Buffalo to Boston, or indeed from Canada directly back to the UK.
I'm focussing on the cities in the above, but in fact I would like to see more of the country than the cities themselves. Anyone recommend where we should go along this approximate route with that in mind, and is this feasible without a car? Any particular websites or books you know of which would help planning this trip?
Thanks.
