UA also has a legal routing from JFK to SFO, continuing to Calgary. If we go that way, I'll do 2 biz class tix.
My recent experience on the flights from JFK-SFO and back in C were less than inspiring.

Most of the flights between JFK and SFO are indeed on 762s (7 out of 8 flights in each direction) but even those purported to be on 763s occasionally suffer last minute equipment downgrades to 762s
If you want a good C product, I'd avoid this route on UA. Old seats, only about a 40" pitch.
