Yes, the FP only works on AC metal and AC only runs LAS-YVR once a day in the late evening. I always assumed that what was visible in the pre-FP-purchase availability checker used the same engine as when you book a FP booking but I can't be sure.

Options from LAS to the coast on AC metal suck, unfortunately.
