Put me in the "tempest in a teapot" crew.
A jump seat went inop, and for whatever reason couldn't be fixed.
This led to 2 choices, cancel the flight, or move the FA to the required closest seat to the emerg. exit, which was 1C.
This in turn led to a bumping of the last UDU person (who didn't PAY for a seat afterall) and a bit of rearranging of the seating.
The other half of the 2 C/D pair then voluntarily moved back so the husband/wife could sit together, and the person who the swapped with happened to be an employee.
There's no story here people, time to move on. I certainly don't see any mass conspiracy here, and to hype the story with "ONE SIXTH of the cabin..." when the reality is "one seat", doesn't help any.
