Same thinking applies to body cavities and TSOs not being thoroughly screened each time they enter and exit the sterile area (think of the BUF BDO who not only could have taken anything she wanted in and out of the sterile area with impunity, she was even escorting pax past security).
I'm sure terrorists are aware that neither body cavities nor TSOs (and many airport employees are screened before entering the sterile area.
Honestly, as a pax, the BUF BDO incident particularly bothered me.
