Since they already offer a AmEx booking solution, as you and yycworldtraveler states, it should be fairly easy to implement it to the rest of the world.
Sorry to interrupt, most likely is your country policy which affect their decision on the accepting of AMEX. Change the country policy on the merchant restriction in order for TG to serve you better. i.e Singapore Airlines Krisflyer Amex card are NOT usable in certain country which are beyond their control. The only different is that SQ posted in their website whereas in your case TG doesn't which made you felt uncomfortable.
