Possibly HNL has a transit area.

I thought that Qantas (and Aerolinas Arg.) had a flight from Sydney to Buenos Aeres 2 or 3 times a week??

Also Lan Chile had a flight Santiago to Easter Islds, that continued to Tahiti, which could hook up to Qantas! Check if they still offer these.

Any flight between Brazil and Japan is making a stop in LAX only to load and unload Pax's. You don't have to get off the plane, so this would not count as transiting the U.S.

As for transiting in Canada, You would need a Canadian Visa (unless visa exempt) but these generally are much easier to obtain than U.S. Visa's.

Canadian Embassy Staff generally look at the applicants likely hood of going back to there home country or place of residence, but not like the US officials who seem to think everyone wants to stay in the US

6 Mos. ago my wife who has Canadian Residency was turned away at the US border going to NY for 1 week. I guess 4 yrs of living in Canada, having a job (with 2 children) and about to move into a new house just wasn't good enough for them!
