You mean Google did not post a disclaimer saying that things might take longer in the event of "fire department activity" or other emergency action? Sounds like you should sue Google.
Next time, show up at the AA ticket counter, and explain what happened. You
might have gotten a different result.
Google said it would take 1:20. I gave it 1:45. It took about 2:40. Read my post. This is nothing to do with Google.
I did show up at the ticket counter afterwards - I got back on the accursed Airtrain at T4 to go back to the subway and found myself at T8. By then, of course, the train was moving speedily.
I got off at T8 to see if showing up in person might help. This was at about 5:50. I went to the First/Biz checkin counter. The lady there said the 7:30 flight was "completely full" and nothing was available for tomorrow.
I should have had the presence of mind to ask her to put me on the standby list for the 7:30 flight anyway, but by then I felt wilted and wasn't really thinking.
