How to figure out what flight (or a/c) *becomes* your flight

Hi all, sorry if this is a noob question, but I'm still learning

I have an award booked for next April. My outbound is CX845 (JFK-HKG @ 01:20). I'm assuming the a/c comes from HKG earlier in the day. How do I find out what that ex-HKG flight number is?

Along similar lines, my return will be CX846 (HKG-JFK @ 18:30). Does anyone know what the ex-JFK flight # is?

Also - if someone could teach me how to look this information up (I tried searching the forum but I'm not sure I fully understand how) -- other than against everyone here -- that'd be great! Thanks in advance!
