As someone who has visited Shanghai well over 100 times, would recommend to have a drink and maybe some bar snacks upstairs at the PH if time permits. Dinner (only so-so) or overnight stay are optional but not necessary, however the view from the bar can be breathtaking.

Btw, several interesting, urban neighbourhoods in Shanghai to explore. Pudong has no shortage of thse either.
