I ran across this offer this morning, I thought it might be useful for those traveling on US's CLT-LGW service.
Customers can get free access to the No.1 lounge at LGW (which, as I recall, is the same contract lounge used by US for Envoy passengers) with the online purchase of a first-class, round-trip ticket on Gatwick Express:

If this fits your needs, it's not a bad deal. The difference between standard class (£26.50) and first class (£50) RT tickets on Gatwick Express is less than the cost of buying access to the lounge (£25). While FC on the UK rail service may not seem like a big deal, it can be now that Gatwick Express is not a dedicated service. The trains going from LGW into London often come from somewhere else, and with the early morning arrival of the US flight, they can be already packed with morning commuters before getting to the airport station. The last time I took that trip, I had to stand in a packed vestibule on the train with all my luggage -- not my first choice after a long overnight flight.
