"this rate is blocked from upgrades, sorry"?
Just stayed at a Four Points on a client’s negotiated rate. FD staffer was really pleasant, noted status, offered the amenity, and said she could upgrade me to a suite, excellent! But when she tried to do the upgrade she said, "oh this rate is blocked from upgrades, I'm sorry".
One night stay and I got the room that was booked so no complaint, but I've never been denied an upgrade based on a rate before, well at least not that the FD TOLD me about anyway. I certainly understand that properties offer certain room tiers when booking on certain rates, but I always thought there was still a possibility of an upgrade outside the booked tier.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Cheers!
