As someone who flies EWR 2x a week, good luck trying to get CO to compensate for a EWR delay. If there's a cloud anywhere over the US of A within 24 hours, it'll be blamed on weather, even if one of the engines falls off the plane.
Well obviously if an engine fell off at EWR it would be because bad weather knocked it off. Or maybe the fear of bad weather over the west coast, but definately weather.
