The agent said, no I do not think so, but now they (Mgmt I guess) are asking us to ensure you can pronounce your name in the name of security. My Uncle said he felt the agent thought it was stupid too but my Uncle pronounced his name and the agent wished him a pleasant flight.
My Uncle asked a Supervisor what the name pronunciation thing was all about and the Supervisor said he is not really sure, he was told about it at a meeting with the FSD and since that meeting TDC has been asking PAX to pronounce their names. The Supervisor then added TSA work in mysterious ways, sometimes even leaving us TSA employees a little confused. He handed my Uncle a comment card and encouraged him to complain about the name pronunciation thing and let Washington know what you think about it.
