I flew from BOM to DEL with Kingfisher last month, and I was rather impressed. The one way ticket cost me £62 for economy, and then about £10 a time to twice change the date of the trip as my work commitments changed. Upon booking I was immediately able to select an exit row window seat.

Unfortunately Kingfisher don't (yet?) recognise OW status, so I had to use the economy check in, however it was quick and efficient. My official luggage allowance was 20Kg, no mention of the number of pieces. I turned up with two bags, one at 26kg and one at 3kg. I wasn't charged any extra fee. I also had my usual carry on back pack and laptop bag. No problems with these either, or weighing them.

Boarding was from gate A10, I should have got the hint, it was a bus gate! However, the buses had big comfortable leather chairs in them, more like sofas really, the kind of thing you would find in a funky coffee shop. It was a bit unusual for the bus to get stuck in a traffic jam airside though!

Upon boarding the plane I was given a carton of lemon drink, some mouth wash and a wet wipe. I assumed this was all I would get, but no, after take off I had a nice vegetable curry and dessert that would put a BA CE meal to shame, with another round of drinks (no alcohol though, this is against the law on Indian domestic flights). There may have been a non VGML available, but I wouldn't have been interested, so I forget.

All in all I was very impressed, it certainly put BAs ET and UK domestic offerings to shame.
