It depends on the credit card. Cancelling a credit card does not always mean you can't use it anymore. I know I got really pissed off when i cancelled a credit card. My husband forgot to cut it up and mistakenly used it a few months later. The charge went through no problem. When I called the credit card company they were very happy to inform me that the card could still be "reactivated" simply by using it again. So unless the rules have changed the card may still be good to charge against.
I now always make sure and tell the CC company to close the account and not allow any reactivation or charges to occure.
but in the case that it is closed and they wouldn't be able to charge it. would that mean i can get away with the no-show cancel fee in a way that is.
