To whom it may concern,
I write to certify the need and fitness of my patient, Mr O. Blivious, for travel in British Airways Club World. I would stress three key medical points.
- Due a complex sinus-larynx condition, Mr Blivious has lost all sense of smell and taste (and indeed is normally fed via a tube), which makes him ideally suited for Club World cuisine.
- My patient suffers from severe agoraphobia and is at ease only in small confined spaces from which it is difficult to enter or exit, necessitating a Club World window seat.
- Mr Blivious is a certified paranoic, and it is particularly important that he should not be addressed by name by those he doesn't know well or singled out from the crowd for special treatment in any way as this can trigger off his condition, so Club World service is ideally suited to him.
I therefore request that your company make a special exception to its normal
Frugal First policy (under which employees are required to take advantage of your corporete First Class discount) and allow my patient to travel in Club.
Please note that due to his complex medical conditions, I, his doctor, need to travel with him on all long journeys. I will not myself require a waiver to your usual class of travel.
Yours truly,
A. Quack.
