It could be in other passengers' interest that someone having a flu does not fly, though. I would hate to have a passenger with a flu nearby. In fact, anyone with the flu should not fly, and should not need a note for 'fake' infection - they should be able to get a note for a 'real' infection since they actually are infectious and lurgy-laden.

Well, if anybody who got flu during his or her holiday would not be able or would not be allowed to fly back home, it would result in chaos in airline reservations and lack of working people in their respective home countries. Especially if the spouses decide to stay with flu suffering person...
