goodo: there is now easy answer.[*]not all miles (or points with some StarAlliance-ff-programs) have the same values.

I, for myself, use miles for upgrades (but as a student, you will probably use your miles for free eco-rides?), and as a European based LH-ff-member I need, in average, >50% more miles for an upgrade than North-American based members or also >50% more miles than I would have to spend UA-miles for the same itinerary - but then again, LH miles for upgrades are good on any fare, not so UA miles, etc. etc.
