Not necessarily. You will have to claim it and then immediately place it back on the counter for the connecting flight (even if this is the next day) assuming you have the boarding pass for this. It is unlikely they will let you 'check' the bag if YVR has not given you the onward bp from LAX.

The other thing is since it will essentially take me 4 days to get from YVR to SIN, I presume I will have to recheck-in at each airport in order to get my boarding pass each day?
Again, not necessarily. If you have the onward bps from LAX you can leave your luggage checked if your connections are <24 hours. I suspect that the problem you will have is that LAX is probably not able to print the bps for you, meaning you'll have to pick up your luggage in ICN.

I suspect your return will be smoother.

I would simply call the airline and ask them but the itin covers multiple airlines so I was hoping to hit up someone who'd already pulled off something similar.
I've done this connecting through Asia on all OW carriers (BA and CX). While BA were able to do most of the bps outbound, the inbound was complicated by the fact that there were two CX flights prior to a BA return following a 20 hour layover in HKG, which the remote station could not deal with.

Good luck!
