DL changed flights /rerouted return itineraries through different connection cities
Mrs. Spartanflyer and I are scheduled to fly to Maui in October and were just notified that our return flight was changed. I called the Plat line to ensure our seats were together as delta.com once again showed no seats assigned /chosen. We booked this trip in February and realize that flights do change with demand.
When I was on the line with the agent, she said that I was flying through DTW and noticed that my wife was booked on the ATL connecting flight. Wow. Completely different return itineraries, despite booking together and having them connected in the system. The reason I checked again and am staying on top of this as this trip has changed a number of times, sometimes with us sitting togather, sometimes in different rows (but never completely different flights!). As this is our anniversary trip, I booked and paid for FC to be sure to fly up front. The Plat rep sighed heavily a lot into the phone (she said she was from Cinti) when I was addressing this issue. Made me feel like I was the problem despite email confirmations from the original booking on Feb 24. Two issues: 1) We keep getting seperated / changed in the system despite being told repeatedly that our itineraries are connected. 2) the Cint Plat rep was obviously bothered by my calling in and asking for her help in getting us on the same schedule. I was on the phone with her for around 25 minutes. Now I realize that many times you should hang up and call again, but I was already investing (timewise) into explaining what needed to be accomplished.
Anyways, just frustrated with delta's inconsistency and the need to keep checking on booked trips as they don't seem to honor connecting itineraries or seat requests. I am calling them every two-three weeks to check / change as needed. Fun. fun, fun.
