What are the odds that you have to gate check when flying coach?

If there is a risk of gate checking I will just ship them, sort of stinks since I built them to meet TSA size regulations but I need them to arrive in one piece.
How big is the bag and how many computers? You may be forced the check the bag even before you board if it does not meet the airline's restriction. Generally, if your airline boards starting at the back of the plane after F class, elites, and other pre boards I would say get a seat in the back of the a/c.
