I agree with Blonde Bomber that * A should introduce a "platinum" level which recognizes the ultra frequent flyers and rewards them for them for their loyalty. The introduction of SQ to the alliance has brought to the forefront the question of lounge access and which level of lounge. It is foreseable in the future that my preferred airline AC will make * Gold a minimum 50K status miles to bring in more in line with the top tier ones. The challenge is to blend national airline interests with a global alliance. This is a tough issue: National pride, fairness, recognition of loyalty. The *A has become a mini United Nations in the skies... and we know how difficcult it is to arrive at consensus in New York !
