RTW itinerary -Is it permissible?
I have to visit USA and Australia in a 2 week period so will try and book a Star RTW, but out of a European hub not the UK where I live. If my journey is FRA-ORD-LAX-SYD-SIN-MAN(UK), can I at some point in the next 12 months do MAN-JNB-MAN and still save the ticket for other journeys that do not require an Atlantic or Pacific crossing?
I have received a copy of a flyer from Singapore Airlines to my Travel Agent, announcing their joining Star and giving details of the Star RTW fares. They quote"...The only condition is, that the traveller must start and end their journey in the same country for a minimum duration of 10 days and include an Atlantic and Pacific crossing in their itinerary. You can even backtrack on yourself which some other competing RTW fares do not offer ..." This does not mention that only one crossing is allowed and would seem to indicate the itinerary I have given is legal. I would welcome feedback.
