I haven't got the printed newest LH-newsletter yet. Reading the (english version) of LH's online-infos on this, it looks as if perhaps the date of march-26-2000 for the Austrian Airline Group, might be only for the miles&more program (including status with LH) and it is still not precise on the Singapore Airlines date (joining StarAlliance).
The Austrian Airlines Group, which includes Austrian Airlines, Lauda Air, and Tyrolean Airways, will join the Lufthansa frequent flyer programme on March 26, 2000. As a Miles & More member, you will then be able to earn miles and redeem for awards on all routes served by our new partners. Until then, however, you will only be able to do so on a few flights operated by Lauda Air and Tyrolean Airways.
This coming summer, the Austrian Airlines Group will also be joining the StarAlliance network. As a Miles & More member, the flight miles including the class of service bonus you earn (100% bonus in business, 200% bonus in First) will also count as status miles, as of March 26, 2000, bringing you that much closer to achieving Frequent Traveller and Senator status.
Shortly the Miles & More Partner Singapore Airlines will become Star Alliance member. As of that date, all miles flown on scheduled Singapore Airlines flights will also count as status miles ( No mileage accrual in Q, G, N and X Class ). If you are a frequent flyer, you can appreciate that Star Alliance partners coordinate their flight schedules, which means you'll spend less time waiting for connecting flights.
