Beckles, I agree. A few weeks ago when FlyerTalk had the on-line discussion, I said I thought that alliances would have far less value (if they still existed) in a few years. Isn't CP, an original member of the OneWorld alliance, leaving to join Star? I don't think there is much loyalty to these alliances. Basically, members will stay in as long as the going is good. My thoughts are that the US carrier's marketing departments came up with these alliances and as soon as the foreign carriers realize they are not getting such a good deal, they will leave.
