Don't want to drift too far off topic, but GM, Ford, and Chrysler have products to fill the gap. Most interesting is probably the Chevy Caprice, a police-only version of a Holden sedan. Dodge has the Charger, and Ford has a Taurus-based Interceptor.
It's not just the police fleets, but also the taxi fleets...not to mention rental car fleets (no more Grand Marquis on ES!).
