Well, I think their words are wisely choosen. They are supposed to be misunderstood, so that we would "think" of getting a benefit from this or that. Then - when you claim - no chance.
It's quite the same with upgrading to first from "D" fares. There is no written word in the MP award charts, that you only can upgrade from "select business fares". It just says upgrade "from bus to F". When comparing to the detailed award charts ref. up's from coach to bus noone could ever guess, that there are restrictions on bus as well.
