It seems that also AA29 SFO-HNL had some problems early this month. I was due to fly on this service on Fri, July 8 but was rebooked on other services because the GA was expecting a big delay (no alternative 757 available at SFO) and we would miss our connection in HNL. The flight eventually left with 3.5 hours delay.

There were quite a few people stranded from the July 7 flight which was cancelled due to technical problems to the plane (apparently the same plane but a different problem - GA announced: "yesterday's problem was solved but we have got a new one").

I was surprised to see AA rebooking people onto other carriers. We eventually flew SFO-LAX-LIH on AA but the first possibility mentioned was direct SFO-LIH on UA (too little time left to make that one). Other PAX were sent to CO. Does AA routinely rebook onto other carriers or was this one exceptional? I once was stranded in ORD and they refused to put me on UA.
