It's a couple days old. I searched and didn't find the story on FT. Sorry if I just missed it. I guess those JFK agents aren't just mean, they're somewhat unfocused as well.

Most things about JFK are awful and I will do almost anything as a DL flyer to avoid this airport. ATL is becoming a JFK. Thus, as much as possible I use DTW as a gateway to the east coast, Europe, and Asia.
