AS someone who use to Non-Rev a lot (family worked in the airline biz) its not that easy, LOTS of planning goes into it, lots of alturnitive routes need to be planned and BE FLEXABLE...

Nice trip report so far - it's interesting to get the travel perspective of someone who works at an airline. How easy is it to fly where you want to go and when? Do you have any 'tricks' to make it more likely that you'll end up in a higher cabin (apart from the chocolates!), like picking particular flights, aircraft or routing? Or do you just turn up and hope for the best?
