Tried to use my CommuterChecks on Amtrak for BOS<-->NYP with a ticket agent. Restrictions cited included:
1) No Acela or Business.
2) Must be roundtrip or multi-ride/10-ride passes
3) No AAA discounts
4) Can only use 4 checks per ticket.

I guess I'll have to come up with some other ways to dispose of my 30 checks...
