Still not a nice thing to do to people - not everyone has the right USD, GBP or EUR coins. I don't normally use a trolley and I normally have GBP and EUR coins anyway, but I am disappointed that LGW is almost doing what I used to hate about many Australian domestic airports, except LGW refunds the money, whereas Australian domestic airports do not.
LHR do not charge for trolleys or require money to be put in there. I think LGW should be more passenger-friendly. I think the staff members at LGW North are generally far nicer than most other airports but the facility at LGW in general is not great. Something to improve, if they can.
