DL baggage takes their own sweet time to return luggage. I went through a less hectic lost bag situation in February.

First, the medallion line cannot help with any bag related issue. Neither can SkyClub agents. They won't even attempt to help.

In my experience the bag office staff could care less about status, priority tags, etc. They also have very interesting rules about when they will home deliver a bag. For example they get 8 business hours from the time the bag arrives. So if it arrives on the last flight of the night, they can technically say they can deliver the next day any time. If you are in a condo building I was told they won't deliver after 5pm! I was shocked by this.

After the ordeal I emailed DL through the website to complain about the lack of information and unresponsive baggage folks at STL. I didn't write to complain about the misplaced back, because stuff happenes.
Long story short, DL let me buy stuff on their dime and they did pay me back. I also got a letter apologizing for the delayed bag and 1500 miles.
