When it comes to "gender issues", I had a bit of a pain with NH last year. I did not pay attention to what gender I chose during the booking process and during check-in for the NRT-BKK flight, an agent told me to walk to the ticket counter to verify the mistake and have them make a record in my booking that a passenger does not have the same gender as declared during the booking (I guess that was the issue when NH decided to introduce all female bathrooms and similar rigmarole on board).
