Sky Prioirty Tagged Baggage Still Delayed After Two Days

Sorry for the long post (rant)

I flew LHR-AMS-MSP-SUX recently checking one bag in BE. I saw the yellow tag applied in LHR. Upon clearing customs in MSP, I watched as the bags came up the belt. Interestingly I noticed the high majority of bags coming up first were not yellow tagged. It also has a Platinum bag tag. My bag never came up. Due to the storm delays, my original destination of FSD was canceled, I was re-booked on a flight much later. I was able to re-route through SUX to get home significantly earlier even after considering the change of airports.

Now on to the baggage claim process. I went first to the Sky Club. They were very helpful in the re-booking and re-routing process. They could do nothing about baggage. I had to go down to baggage claim to begin the process.

At the baggage desk I was told my bag was in AMS and would be on the same flight the next day. I was told I could not make a claim for home delivery until I arrived at my final destination. So I waited until my arrival at SUX.

So I wait a day and start tracking my bag on delta.com. No tracking updates as of 4 hours after the scheduled arrival of ams-msp. Phone lines to baggage busy. So I do the twitter thing. Wow, @deltaassist finds my bag and tells me it is being put on a flight to SUX to arrive at 6:35pm. Around 7pm, I check on delta.com and find new tracking information including the bag arrival in SUX.

Now my bag is still in SUX. It has not been sent out for delivery almost 12 hours later. I am starting to see why the station code SUX. Maybe this is why service is being cut from 3 daily to 2 daily and runs about 50% load on CRJs.

I now have to wait until DL Baggage Services wakes up before speaking to a live person.
