My wife received an complimentary Hilton HHonors Gold card in the post today. I was actually expecting it to be my own HHonors Gold card following progression from Silver, when I initially saw the mailing.

The mailing was a joint HHonors/BA affair with the following wording:

"As a loyal British Airways Executive Club member, you've earned instant Hilton HHonors Gold status. Now you can enjoy more points, more BA Miles and privileges reserved for Hilton HHonors's favourite guests such as free room upgrades and complimentary breakfast*"

The card has an introductry bonus of 5000 HHonors points and 5000 BA miles for 4 qualifying stays before 31 Oct 11. The Gold status is valid until March 2013, after which normal requirements are required to retain Gold.

I can see problems ahead with two Gold cards in one house!
