Singapore native speakers are not very good with the customs of formal Mandarin... on SQ, chinese announcements are almost always delivered by Taiwanese or Chinese FAs (depending on destination). I recall that the non-Singaporeans FAs announce themselves that way, something like (in mandarin) "This is XXX, I am your Chinese/Taiwanese FA serving you on this flight."
Now listening to Singapore SQ FAs deliver announcements in German... YIKES, mein gott. Then again, I cringe listening to the English (they can say 'seat' but seatbelt is 99.9% pronounced as 'sit-belt') so I guess we can safely say no language is sacred!
