The biggest mistake has been moving the TSA luggage screening behind closed doors. If all luggage was screened in plain view of PAX there would only be thefts by airline employees.

Yup, easy solution: Cameras all over the place in the search area. Random spot checks to make sure TSOs are leaving love notes with the appropriate employee number. One strike and you're out.
