Has anyone had any experience in calling customer service to make a payment toward your monthly bill with an AmEx gift card? I'm considering ordering several hundred $$ worth of AmEx gift cards from the Delta marketplace (to be paid with my DL miles) to help pay for an upcoming trip.

Does anyone know if this would work?
