Do the plt challenge and make sure your booked on the AA codeshares of cx flights. With one trip, you will have plt. From there, being in premium cabin and being a plt will give you some nice mileage bonuses as well as the one world status that comes with it.
didn't realize code shares were allowed for the PLT challenge, always thought the flights needed to be AA-code AND on AA-metal.
Else this would indeed be perfect if GS can't be obtained (no experience there). Better service and a nice entry into AAdvantage program.
