Not sure about D2, but GHM hotels (Chedi) tend to more 'boutique' style with far fewer rooms and more upscale than the average LM or Sheraton.

If you think the situation at the LM Chiang Mai is not acceptable, you have not seen the LM Chiang Rai .....
