It sounds like you will be doing about 12 ORD-HKG-ORD trips split over 2 membership years on UA -- no chance to get GS doing that. You would be about 20% of the way there if flying mostly in paid J. You can credit J/F on CX to Aadvantage and earn EXP as suggested, which comes in somewhat more useful than 1K. UA had to create GS because EXP was so much better than 1K but they had to keep the numbers down.
