(ETA) Even stranger: The flights show up as a legal routing connection on both the UA and CO timetables. Both segments are wide open. Why won't any booking engine let me leave MKE at 5:40 on 10/15 and land in AUS at 10:05?
I believe minimum connection time is airport dependant:

Minimum connecting times vary between airports. Please allow at least 45
minutes for a domestic connection and at least 90 minutes for an international connection.

Maybe the airport changed their min due to terminal changes? Not sure where you can get this information.
