I believe there was a similar incident at CLE within the last 2years, where an air marshall left his service weapon in a restroom there.
Excuse my ignorance, but maybe some of the law enforcment officers in this forum can explain HOW it is that an officer became so careless that resulted in a loaded weapon being left in a restroom at the airport for anyone to find?.
TSA will probably respond by having random screenings of anyone coming out of the restrooms, station a "clerk" at every stall!

So if a passenger who has a license to carry a firearm forgets he has it while going through the checkpoint, he gets arrested, and perhaps even highlighted on TSA.gov. Let's see what happens to a cop who forgets he or she has a loaded gun and leaves it in the toilet.
