Agreed. F is nice when it comes along. But the capacity to get a seat where I know I can tolerate the flight under ... well, whatever -- that is the biggest practical benefit. Most of my miles are TATL and there, wow, the difference between being up front to clear customs, avoiding a middle seat and ... Gosh, it pains me just to think of flying without this status benefit.
